Chicago Recap

I'm quite a bit behind on my posts since the first post recapped San Diego over Memorial Day Weekend. It's now just about August and I'm finally getting around to sharing the time we spent in Chicago in mid June. It's been a whirlwind few months of work, wedding planning (more on that tomorrow!), and life. I really did want to get this up though because this is my online diary and I wanted to share the amazing time spent in Chi-Town with V's fam. I've never been to Chicago, but was always dying to see it.

Chicago exceeded my already high expectations. Vance's family volunteers for the Cubs Spring Training organization here in Arizona, so the purpose of the trip was to visit Wrigley Field, go on the field, and watch the Cubs game in the owner's suite on the last night. This is a trip they take almost every year. I was so lucky to get to accompany them. On our first night, we took the sunset Architectural Tour cruise on the River which culminated in fireworks over Navy Pier. It was amazing seeing how the sun hit the buildings and everything lit up at night. The next day we walked to the Sears Tower (I don't know what it's called now tbh but the view was amazing). Vance and I went the American Girl Place, my childhood dream fulfilled, plus it made me miss AG days.

We also went to the Shedd Aquarium which is always right up my alley. Vance had some great commentary that you would have seen on snapchat (@faziodanielle) that made the experience even more enjoyable. On Saturday before the game, we went to see the famous Bean and took some awesome photos of course. We took the train to Wrigley and just being there was one of most palpable baseball experiences. I even got to go on the field with them which will be one of the top moments I've ever had with Vance. The entire trip was a dream. The food, the experiences, the company, and the city encompass what is one of the best vacations I've ever had. Chicago, I'll be back soon...you can count on it.

  1. Although this place is probably not cheap, but they are centrally located, have fabulous staff and delicious food, and most importantly, the best views of the city. I would definitely recommend this Chicago event space for any kind of fancy event – all my friends talked about throwing parties here only.
